Barb’s career in marketing strategy and advertising spans over 25 years. Her passion for business-building ideas and non-stop energy led to forming BARD Advertising in 1996. BARD delivers strategic programs for clients that drive revenue through omnichannel marketing.

Barb has grown BARD into an award-winning agency with long-term clients over the past 18 years including General Mills, Ecolab, Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Hasbro, Crystal Farms and Johnson & Johnson to name a few. Although agency recognition is nice, Barb is more honored by her client’s trust. Many of Barb’s original clients are still working with her nearly 18 years later.

In 2008 Barb founded the Shopper Marketing LinkedIn group, now boasting over 14,000 members including global representation from marketers and companies worldwide.

Considered an industry leader within consumer-packaged goods, Barb was awarded the Who’s Who in Shopper Marketing Award in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 from the Path to Purchase Institute. She also served as a panel judge for the Pro Awards in 2011 and 2012 in the Shopper Marketing category. The Pro Awards recognize outstanding promotion marketing in 27 categories within the marketing industry. Barb is a frequent speaker on brand and marketing topics including the Food Marketing Summit, where she presented “Moment of Purchase,” outlining the consumer journey through the path to purchase.

Outside of work, Barb supports her community and has aligned with the American Diabetes Association (ADA), Hope Chest for Breast Cancer, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Barb lives with her husband and two daughters outside of Minneapolis.
